Robin

On June 8, 2008, I saw this robin standing right on my front lawn. We are in the midst of putting new sod on our lawn so the area the robin was standing in was quite wet. He didn't seem to mind this one bit. Robins are a sign that spring is here.

Hawk

On June 8, 2008, I saw one of the parents of the baby hawk flying around just above where the baby hawk was. It didn't look like this hawk had any food for the baby and the baby was sure starting to get very vocal about that fact that he hadn't eaten anything yet.

Baby Hawk

On June 8, 2008, the baby hawk is seen sitting on a ledge on the side of this very steep mountain. I noticed that the baby hawk had a speckled coloured brown and white chest and he appeared rather big for a baby.

Baby Hawk

On June 8, 2008, I was very fortunate to see a baby hawk walking along the ledge on the side of a mountain. This baby hawk was very vocal, calling to his parents who were hoovering up above him. I'm sure this little guy was hungry and was waiting for his supper.

Wildflowers

On May 30, 2008, I went for a walk across the street from where I live. There are always lots of wildflowers growing within the mountains. I am amazed that anything grows in the rough mountainous terrain but it does.

Starling

On May 30, 2008, I went for a walk across the street from where I live. I saw this starling sitting right on the very top of the mountain. The mountain is probably 100 to 150 feet high, not a very tall mountain by any means, but tall enough. The starling has some grass in her beak for her nest.

Cactus

On May 30, 2008, I went for a walk across the street from where I live. On the ground I saw this group of small cactus. We have cactus in this part of Canada. They are small but don't let their size fool you. They have prickles and they can hurt.

Woodpecker

On May 15, 2008, the woodpecker was sitting in the hole that she had made in the tree This woodpecker had dug the hole so big that it had actually tore the branch right from this tree.

Pansies

On May 14, 2008, I took a picture of some pansies that are growing on our front lawn. Notice the single dandelion in the front of them. I think someone missed it when they were weeding the lawn.

Skydiver

On May 10, 2008, I saw a Skydiver fall from the sky. Actually he was dropped out of an airplane. I live pretty close to the Kamloops airport and have seen several sky divers so far.

Homie

On May 10, 2008, Homie, the cat that hangs around the auto wrecking yard, decided to pay us a visit again. Homie is a cool cat. He is big and fat and heavy. He loves hugs too.

Deer

On April 25, 2008, I was at the Lac De Bois Grassland Park. I saw several deer while there. The Grassland Park is a great place to see deer and also mountain sheep.

Cow

On April 25, 2008, I was at the Lac De Bois Grassland Park with my dog, Ice. I saw some cows on the side of the road but this one cow in particular seemed very interested in my dog. It almost looked like the cow was going to chase my dog.

Woodpecker

On April 10, 2008, I saw a woodpecker in a tree in my backyard. This woodpecker pecked a hole in the tree big enough for it to be able to sit in. I'd be pretty sure the woodpecker has a nest in the hole.

Colt

On April 6, 2008, I went for a drive on the Paul Lake Road and I saw this little colt standing beside his mother. He is the sweetest little thing I have ever seen. Colts are so beautiful and young and so brand new. I love colts.

Crow

On April 5, 2008, I was standing on my front porch and saw this crow land right on the fence. I think this crow was very bold. He was only inches from where I was standing.

Hawks

On March 23, 2008, I went for a walk in the mountains and I saw these two red-tailed hawks soaring right above my head. It was really awesome watching them. They would stop flying in mid-air and let the air take them away.

Easter Bunny

On March 22, 2008 I went to Kelowna, BC and I was so excited to see the Easter Bunny. However, the funny thing was, the Easter Bunny wasn't handing out any chocolates or Easter treats. He was eating instead. Hmmmmm, oh wait, I know, he was just taking a break. After all, he's got lots and lots of houses to deliver to. So, don't worry, you will get your Easter gifts.

Ice

On March 22, 2008, at 10:00 pm, I became the proud owner of Ice, an Australian Cattle Dog/Collie cross. Ice is a very sweet dog, very lovable, soft and furry. I love Ice very much.

Woodpecker

On March 21, 2008, I saw this beautiful woodpecker sitting in a tree right in my yard. He sat pecking at the tree for quite a while and I noticed lots of wood chips lying on the ground right underneath this tree.

Mountain Sheep

On March 14, 2008, I saw the herd of mountain sheep again on Ord Road, Kamloops, BC. They looked like they were enjoying the warm sunshine.

Mountain Sheep

In this picture you can see many members of the herd. Mountain sheep travel mostly in herds but are also known to stay by themselves too.

Mountain Sheep

It looks like the herd of mountain sheep that I saw were enjoying the bright sunshine and the warmth of spring.

Mountain Sheep

On March 13, 2008 I saw a herd of mountain sheep on the Ord Road in Kamloops, BC.

Hawk Flying

On February 12, 2008, I saw this hawk flying right above the mountain. He was awesome. This was at the Grassland Park, Kamloops, BC. Hawks are very nice looking birds. I have seen several hawks since moving to British Columbia 2 and a half years ago.

Hawk

On February 12, 2008, I saw a hawk sitting on top of a hydro pole. I was at the Grassland Park in Kamloops, BC.

Meet Homie

On February 10, 2008, I went to see the new place that I am going to be moving into and I met Homie, the stray cat that lives there. I got to pick Homie up and I'll tell you he weighs more than a 10 lb. bag of potatoes. He is a big cat. I thought Kitty was big but Homie is much bigger. Homie is a cool cat and I can't wait to be a part of his life and for him to be a part of mine.

Meet Kitty

This is Kitty. She is about nine months old and is a pretty neat cat. I do have to be careful not to leave anything laying around that is important because Kitty has been known to take a $10 bill from the table and hide it under the couch.

Double Treat

On January 31, 2008, I saw not one but two bald eagles sitting in a tree in Valleyview, Kamloops, BC. This was a very rare treat indeed. I have seen one bald eagle several times sitting in this tree but very seldom do I get to see two of them at once.

Cows in a Circle

On January 13, 2008, I went for a drive in the Grassland Park, Kamloops, BC. I saw this herd of cattle in a pasture. They are standing in a circle and it looks like the reason for that is because they just got fed. I've never seen this before where they get fed in a circle like this but then again, I am originally from Ontario. In Ontario our cows there were always fed in a straight line. Hey, maybe that is why beef in BC tastes so much better!

Magpie

On January 13, 2008, I went for a walk in the Grassland Park. I saw this magpie sitting in this tree. The tree was located right beside a railway track. Magpies are kind of spooky birds. They have white breasts and very long black tails. They are on the list of birds I don't much like. Crows are on that list as well.

Bald Eagle

On January 10, 2008, I saw my bald eagle sitting in his tree. It was a very cold day and I guess he was just resting. Whenever I see my bald eagle in his tree, he does seem to sit there for quite awhile.
