Crow

On March 29, 2007, I saw this crow sitting on this roof. Crows are not my favourite birds and as a matter of fact, I can't stand them. They are big and black and just plain ugly. There is something about a crow that I just can't put my finger on and I think it is because they remind of death.

There are a lot of crows in BC, Canada, where I live. They seem to be always bothering small birds. I think they are pests. I also think that what they do is pester the small birds and then steal their eggs or even their young babies.

Old Ranch on Highway 5A South, BC

On March 26, 2007, I went for a drive on Highway 5A South. I love seeing all the ranch land that there is. I especially love the old abandoned buildings that are there. It adds to the rustic, rugged, wild, wild west that we live in.

North Thompson River

On March 25, 2007, I went for a drive on Highway 5A North. This is a picture of the North Thompson River. Right now, the river is pretty low. You can see the gravel and sand beds. The glaciers have not melted yet but when they do this river will be filled with lots of ice-cold water.

Tree

On March 25, 2007, I went for a drive on Highway 5A North, just outside of Kamloops, BC. I stopped at the Fishtrap Rest Area. British Columbia has some very tall trees. This is one of them. Some of the bark on this tree had been burnt by a forest fire that occurred a few years ago. However, it looks like this tree survived because it did have fresh new needles on it.

Cactus

On March 22, 2007, I was given my second cactus plant and I absolutely adore it. Now, I must definitely be living in the wild, wild west because when asked what kind of plant I would like to have, I said cactus. I have heard other people want an Easter lily or a spider plant but not me. There was only one plant for me.

South Thompson River, Kamloops, BC

On March 14, 2007, I took a walk along the beach at the South Thompson River. You can see that there was a lot of clouds that day but it looks like there were clear skies to the east. It was a little nippy out but it wasn't all that cold considering it was only the middle of March. I love visiting the beach. It is a nice place to go for a walk and think about life.

Mule Deer

On March 11, 2007, I was amazed at the number of mule deer that I saw. There were three on one side of the road, three on the other side of the road and this one all by himself. This mule deer sat watching me while I took his picture. He had his head turned right around to see what I was doing.

Mountain Sheep

On March 11, 2007, I saw a herd of mountain sheep at Lac De Bois Grassland Park, Kamloops, BC. These mountain sheep are actually young ones because they have smaller horns. These ones were standing right beside the road and it looks like the one on the right was enjoying eating his grass.

Bald Eagle

On March 7, 2007, I saw my bald eagle sitting in this tree. There are two trees in this location across from Valleyview Square, Kamloops, BC, that my bald eagle sits in. This particular day he decided to sit in the smaller of the two trees. Normally, he sits in the taller one. I am very lucky to be able to see this eagle frequently and I have been kind of watching him and his every move and it is pretty awesome.
